The Army National Guard Provides Financial Literacy Curriculum to Over 30,000 Students

THE ARMY NATIONAL GUARD PROVIDES FINANCIAL LITERACY CURRICULUM TO OVER 30,000 STUDENTS

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Army National Guard is providing Ramsey Solutions’ Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum to 279 high schools across the United States and its territories. Foundations in Personal Finance is the premier curriculum for teaching financial literacy to students.

Personal finance expert Dave Ramsey created Foundations in Personal Finance, a comprehensive school curriculum that teaches students the value of saving, spending and giving to guide them down the path of financial literacy.

“One of our goals at Ramsey Solutions is to bring financial literacy to the masses, and we believe that can start in the classroom,” said Jim King, Executive Vice President of Ramsey Education. “We are honored to impact communities across the nation.”

The teachers leading Foundations in Personal Finance in sponsored schools have come to see its importance in students’ lives. They acknowledge that financial lessons taught now will benefit students in the long run.

“My first exposure to the Dave Ramsey curriculum was in an Economics class where I previously worked,” said Alisha Young, teacher at South Albany High School, which is sponsored by the Army National Guard. “Students benefit from the program; they learn information that pertains to the real, adult world. The curriculum provides knowledge that can be applied in daily life and outside of the classroom; skills that students will use the rest of their lives.”

More than five million students have taken Foundations in Personal Finance in middle schools, high schools and universities. Foundations in Personal Finance can be used as a resource to fulfill requirements in mathematics, economics, family and consumer sciences, social studies, business mathematics and personal finance.
