This isn’t about checking a few boxes, having a couple quick chats, and then boom, you’re hired. Our super thorough process is all about making 100% sure that this is the right move for us and you—because you should be excited about where you work. Scroll down to see a breakdown of what to expect in the Ramsey interview process.
At Ramsey Solutions, we believe people shouldn’t work a boring ol’ nine-to-five just to make a paycheck. Each person was created with specific skills and gifts that they’re meant to use for a purpose. That’s why we’re genuinely excited to come to work each day—and we want that for you too.
We hope you’re fired up! Now, keep in mind that interviews could be over the phone, on video or in person, and this journey may look a little different depending on your situation.
Because our process is really thorough, it can sometimes take awhile. But remember—we’ll be in it with you every step of the way.
HR Interview With a Recruiter
This is the first conversation you’ll have with us. We want to learn all about you and your potential fit at Ramsey!
Video Interview or Skills Assessment
Show us what you’ve got! Depending on the role, we might give you an assessment to complete online, in writing or over a video interview. You’ll complete the skills assessment or video screen either before or after the HR interview.
Hiring Leaders Interview
Now’s your chance to talk about your skills and experiences with the person who would be your leader (and you might even talk to other leaders you’d partner with).
Online DISC Personality Test
DISC is our favorite tool for learning your communication style. So be honest when you’re filling this out. We don’t make any decisions based off of this—we just want to get to know you better!
Senior Leader Interview
You’ll have another conversation with a leader to cover your culture fit with the team you’d be joining.
Benefits Chat With a Recruiter
The recruiter will use this time to talk with you about benefits, references and the budget exercise. (But just so you know, you can ask about benefits at any point in the interview process!)
Compensation Chat With the Hiring Leader
Money talk time! We’ll cover salary and profit sharing (if it applies to the position).
Budget Exercise
It may sound a little weird, but the salary we talked about shouldn’t leave you broke! You’ll make a monthly budget to make sure it doesn’t.
Visit HQ for On-Site Interviews
These are your final interviews with HR and leadership (don’t worry—we’ll cover your travel costs if you’re not local).
Spousal Meal
If your interviews go well, you’ll break bread with the hiring leader and their spouse so you can ask your final burning questions. And if you’ve got a spouse, they’ll join too!
The Decision
Sleep on it. Pray on it. Make sure this is the right move for you (and we will, too!). We’ll get back to you in a couple business days with a final decision.
Keep in mind: Some of the positions might not follow these steps exactly. Your recruiter will keep you up to speed on next steps, but feel free to ask them if you ever get confused about where you are in the process!
We’re looking forward to walking this journey with you!
P.S. Our philosophy on interviewing is no secret recipe—all the details are in Chapter 7 of Dave Ramsey’s book EntreLeadership.
